After being caught cheating, Beresford-Redman took his wife Monica and their children on holiday to Mexico in an effort to salvage his crumbling marriage. However, when Monica was strangled, the police soon regarded Bruce as their number one suspect and he was eventually extradition back to Mexico to stand trial.
