Christy Brown is a cerebral palsy victim with his left foot the only appendage over which he has complete control. With this foot he learns to paint, write, type and essentially communicate. This film follows his life from birth into a poor bricklayer's family in Dublin through to a fortuitous meeting with a young nurse when he was about forty years old. Starring Daniel Day-Lewis and Brenda Fricker in Oscar®-winning roles.
