Annie and Oskar, sister and brother, go to stay with their ultra-correct uncle and policeman Bent, which seems to be a very boring affair. However, two thieves and their parrot escape jail and steal a retired general's camel. Their Uncle Bent and local detective Snudekaft start their investigation to catch the thieves, as do Annie and Oskar.
