In 1977 at Turnberry, Tom Watson and Jack Nicklaus played out the ‘Duel in the Sun,’ widely acknowledged as the greatest Open finish of them all. In 2016, on the same Ayrshire coastline at Royal Troon, Henrik Stenson and Phil Mickelson engaged in another epic duel at The 145th Open that stands alongside the Watson-Nicklaus clash as one of the greatest ever witnessed. 'Duel of the ‘Sons' tells the captivating story of a battle to be crowned 'Champion Golfer of the Year' featuring two popular veterans - one chasing a dream, the other determined to be reunited with the Claret Jug. Playing virtually flawless golf alongside each other over the final two rounds, the pair separated themselves from the rest of the field as Zach Johnson put up a stout defence and a new crowd favourite emerged in Andrew ‘Beef’ Johnston, who built a warm bond with the adoring galleries. Stenson eventually emerged triumphant by three shots to become the first-ever 'Champion Golfer of the Year' from Sweden, shattering scoring records in the process. Enhanced by exclusive interviews with all of the lead characters in this compelling drama, the official film of The 145th Open captures the story of an Open that is never to be forgotten.

On the 15th fairway on an unforgettable afternoon at Gleneagles, two captains shook hands, swapped stories and reflected on the fact the winning point at the Ryder Cup had been clinched by the shot of the lifetime. Captain Paul McGinley’s side led 10-6 going into the final day and reached 14 ½ needed to win the Cup outright when Welsh rookie Jamie Donaldson beat Keegan Bradley 4&3. This meant Europe completed their mission in the singles to win the 40th Ryder Cup 16 ½ - 11 ½ against the United States at Gleneagles. Europe have now won 8 of the last 10 Ryder Cups, while the US have not won an away match since 1993.
