Theodore er alene. Langt fra hjemplaneten jorden er han tvunget til å arbeide i en gruve på en øde straffekoloni. Plutselig en dag får Theodore uventet besøk av den terroristmerkede Niyya, som hjemsøkes av en tragisk fortid. Det umake paret begynner motvillig å bli kjent med hverandre. Snart oppstår det imidlertid en mistanke i Niyyas sinn: at Theodore skjuler en mørk hemmelighet dypt inne i sitt ødelagte sinn.
